Amy Schumer was born in 1981 and grew up on Long Island, New York. After graduating with a degree in theater from Towson University, Amy moved to New York City in 2003 and began launched a career as an actress, starting with the off-Broadway comedy Keeping Abreast. Her stand-up career started with a performance at the Gotham Comedy Club, and within a short period of time she’d competed on Last Comic Standing, placing fourth in the competition.
Next for Schumer was a role on the Comedy Central show Reality Bites Back. During this time, Amy also began appearing as a regular on the Howard Stern Show and also on Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfield on the Fox News network. Although Amy Schumer’s career is just beginning, she has already earned her own special on the Comedy Central network, which aired in 2010. Amy co-hosted A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus in 2011, and has appeared in a number of television shows, including 30 Rock, Delocated, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Live at Gotham.
