The American fashion designer and star of the Bravo series The Rachel Zoe Project, Rachel Zoe was born in 1971 in New York City. Long before she became one of the era’s most sought-after fashion consultants and stylists to the stars, Zoe graduated from George Washington University with a dual major in psychology and sociology. Rachel first entered the world of fashion as an editor, but quickly began to work as a stylist to an ever-expanding list of celebrities.
Over the course of her career, Rachel Zoe has served as a stylist to such heavy-hitters as: Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence, Keira Knightley, Lindsay Lohan, Cameron Diaz, Liv Tyler, and Kate Hudson. She is recognized as the creator of the popular “boho-chic” look, which blends loose-fitting clothing and oversized accessories on a slender female frame. She has written two books on style – Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour (2007) and Living in Style: Inspiration and Advice for Everyday Glamour (2014.) She has also served as a consultant for the Gap corporation; unveiled her own collection of handbags and accessories; and launched a series of salons, DreamDry, with locations starting in New York City.
In 2008, Zoe’s talents caught the attention of the Bravo network, which offered her a reality show based on her work as a stylist and fashion consultant. The Rachel Zoe Project debuted in 2008 and was an immediate success; the show was renewed for four additional seasons, concluding in 2014. Since the show’s conclusion, Zoe has focused her attention on her various business projects; a single season talk show based on her work, Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe, also aired for eight episodes in late 2015.
