Fashion designer and television personality June Ambrose rose to prominence in the early 1990’s, working as a stylist for a number of high profile artists such as Missy Elliott. But long before she entered the world of fashion and style, Ambrose began her first career in the banking business, working for an investment company. After establishing herself in the business world, she was offered a position at Uptown MCA Records.
While at MCA, June was offered a position as a stylist, a field at the time completely unknown to her. With no experience or training, she took the leap and accepted the job, launching a career which has since made Ambrose one of the most recognized stylists of the era. Combining her investment knowledge and her newfound passion for fashion, in 1994 June launched The Mode Squad, Inc., her first styling company. By the new millennium, Ambrose had risen to become one of the most in-demand stylists for high profile artists. In 2006, she published the book Effortless Style, in which she shares her high-profile fashion tips with readers.
Today, June is most recognized as the “style architect” for up and coming artists on the reality competition series X Factor. She also began hosting “Style Boost” for Jay Z’s Life and Times website in 2013.
