The R&B and soul singer Peggy Scott Adams was born in 1948 in Alabama. Young Peggy grew up in the town of Opp, but by the time she was a teenager her remarkable vocal talents had already brought her to the attention of record labels and Ben E. King, with whom she toured early on in her career. Some of Peggy Scott Adams’s earlier hits include the songs “Lover’s Holiday,” “Pickin’ Wild Mountain Berries” and “Soulshake,” but until recently Peggy Scott Adams had never released her own solo album.
Under the influence and support of producer Jimmy Lewis, Peggy Scott Adams resurfaced in the mid 1990’s to record her debut, Help Yourself, which arrived in 1996. The album rose into the mainstream charts and reached into the top ten on the R&B charts, setting the stage for a career comeback which took everyone by surprise.
Since then, Peggy Scott Adams has released the additional albums: Contagious (1997), Undisputed Queen (1999), Hot and Sassy (2001), Busting Loose (2005), and the gospel album God Can, And He Will (2006.) Notable singles from Peggy Scott Adams throughout her career include: “Bill,” “Spousal Abuse,” “I’m in Love,” “that’s How I Do It,” “When You’re Married to a Fool,” “When I’m With You,” “Sweaty Men,” “See You Next Weekend,” and “I Intend To Take Your Place.”
