The American actor and comedian Nick Offerman was born in 1970 in Joilet, Illinois. Young Nick attended the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign in pursuit of a Bachelor of Fine Arts. While at the university, he co-founded Defiant Theater alongside some of his classmates. The group became one of the most well-known Chicago-based theater companies, and led to Offerman’s later work with other notable companies, including Goodman and Steppenwolf.
In 2003, Nick Offerman began to receive offers for guest roles on a variety of high profile television shows of the period, including The West Wing, The King of Queens, 24, George Lopez, Gilmore Girls, Monk, and Will & Grace. But his big breakthrough came when he was offered the role of Ron Swanson on the NBC series Parks and Recreation in 2009. The role earned Offerman a Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy.
Since his debut on Parks and Recreation, Nick Offerman has appeared in such notable films as: Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (2005), Men Who Stare at Goats (2009), 21 Jump Street (2012), We’re the Millers (2013), The Kings of Summer (2013), 22 Jump Street (2014), A Walk in the Woods (2015), Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015), and Danny Collins (2015.)
