Bam Margera is an American television personality associated with MTV and the Jackass television show and movies. He is also a professional skateboarder.
Bam Margera was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on September 28, 1979. He is the brother of Jess Margera, drummer of the band CKY. He never graduated from high school, but has received his GED. As a professional skateboarder, Bam Margera has worked on the demonstration team for Element Skateboards, Team Element. Despite not being a high level pro skateboard competitor, his frequent appearances in successful videos, driven by his selling personality, have garnered him many sponsorship deals, including Adio Footwear, Speed Metal Bearings, Fairman's Skateshop, Electric Visual and Destructo Trucks. He is also the thirteenth skater ever to land "The Loop" in Phoenix, Arizona.
In his early twenties, Bam Margera started producing the CKY series of videos (CKY standing for "Camp Kill Yourself"), which featured Bam Margera and his friends performing skateboard stunts. This series of videos has been released for several years since 1999 and led to Bam Margera being offered to appear on Jackass. After success with the filming of Jackass, Bam Margera had a television show called "Viva La Bam" on MTV, which ran for five seasons. In "Viva La Bam", Bam Margera and his friends would perform strange and nonsensical stunts to achieve some kind of random mission each episode. Skating tricks were also featured often in the show. Since the end of the show in 2005, Bam Margera has continued to work with the Jackass crew as they release their new movie, has put together a record label called Filthy Note Records, directed music videos for the band HIM, and appeared as a character in numerous Tony Hawk skateboarding video games, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 & 4, Tony Hawk's Underground 1 & 2, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, and Tony Hawk's Project 8. He also designs skateboards and clothes and has a show on Sirius Satellite Radio called Radio Bam.
