The American actor and comedian Rob Riggle was born in 1970 in Louisville, Kentucky. Riggle graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Film and Theater in 1992, but before entering the field of entertainment he earned a Masters degree from Webster University. After graduating, he began to pursue a career in comedy, joining the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater alongside his friend Rob Huebel.
Riggle and Huebel began appearing together on VH1 and the Comedy Central network, on shows such as Best Week Ever and A2Z, until in 2004 they auditioned for Saturday Night Live. Rob Riggle was selected to join the cast, although he only remained for one season. In 2006, he joined the Daily Show as one of the show’s “correspondents,” appearing in a number of key sketches, including his four-part special from China, titled, “Rob Riggle; Chasing the Dragon.”
Since leaving the Daily Show in 2008, Rob Riggle has gone on to appear in a number of other television shows, including: Human Giant (2007-2008), Gary Unmarried (2009-2010), and American Dad!, in the role of various voices (2009-2010.) Riggle has also appeared in the films: Step Brothers (2008), The Hangover (2009), Killers (2010), Larry Crowne (2011), Big Miracle (2012), Nature Calls (2012), 21 Jump Street (2012), Just Before I Go (2014), and 22 Jump Street (2014.)
Rob Riggle continues to act, and has recently retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserve after serving twenty-three years as an officer.
