Ben Platt is an American actor and singer born in 1993. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and was raised in a talented family with a father heavily involved in theatre production. Ben Platt attended the Adderley School for Performing Arts and later transferred to the Harvard-Westlake School. He dropped out of Columbia University when his acting career took off.
Ben Platt left college to star in the Chicago-based production of The Book of Mormon, which ran between 2012 and 2013. During that time Platt also starred on the big screen in the 2012 film Pitch Perfect and returned for the 2015 sequel as well. He broke out on Broadway landing the role of Evan Hansen in the titular play, which he held for three years both on and off-Broadway. In 2017, Platt signed a record deal with Atlantic and performed at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
Ben Platt has starred in two Broadway plays The Book of Mormon from 2014 to 2015 and Dead Evan Hansen from 2016 to 2017. He has starred in nine feature films and will star in the ambitious Merrily We Roll Along, which film over the next twenty years.
