Bad Company was founded by Simon Kirke, Paul Rodgers, Boz Burrell, and Mick Ralphs. The former members of the bands Free, Mott the Hoople, and King Crimson came together in 1973 and found great success throughout the decade, their long-lasting singles becoming a part of the classic rock canon we know today.
Bad Company signed to Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label, the first band to do so, and released their debut, Bad Company, in 1974. The album was an instant hit, rising to the top of the charts on the strength of the single “Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love.” Straight Shooter followed, featuring the hit “Feel Like Makin' Love," and a string of albums and hits followed throughout the next three decades: Run with the Pack (1976), Burnin’ Sky (1977), Desolation Angels (1979), Rough Diamonds (1982), Fame and Fortune (1986), Dangerous Age (1988), Holy Water (199), Here Comes Trouble (1992), Company of Strangers (1995), and Stories Told & Untold (1996.)
In the new millennium, Bad Company continues to perform and tour with the lineup of Simon Kirke, Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Howard Leese, and Todd Ronning. Notable performances in recent years include a joint tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2013, a North American tour with Joe Walsh in 2016, and then a headlining U.K. arena tour with Orianthi and Richie Sambora as supporting acts. Bad Company also re-released its first two albums—Bad Company (1974) and Straight Shooter (1975)—in 2015.
