Taj Burrow Biography

Australian professional surfer Taj Burrow was born in 1978 in Yallingup, Western Australia. Young Taj grew up surfing while still in elementary school, and by the time he was eighteen years old, he’d qualified for the ASP World Tour and become the youngest surfer to ever win a national title. By 1998, Burrow had earned the Rookie of the Year Award from the ASP World Tour and finishing at the top of that year’s rankings.

Notable achievements from Taj Burrow include: defeating legendary Kelly Slater in the Billabong Pipeline Masters in 2009; finishing in fourth place on the World tour in 2009; winning the Rip Curl Pro in 2007; winning the Billabong Pro in 2007; and winning the Hurley Pro in 2013.

Today, Taj Burrow continues to compete, sponsored by Von Zipper, Billabong, and Globe. Burrow recently published his own series of surf videos and published his first book, Taj Burrow’s Book of Hot Surfing.
