The English guitarist, singer and actor Peter Noone was born in 1947 in Lancashire, England. Long before Peter rose to fame as a member of the 1960’s rock group Herman’s Hermits, he grew up in the Manchester area and began his career as a child actor, appearing on television shows and soap operas. Noone attended a performing arts school as a teenager, often winning awards and accolades from his peers and teachers.
Noone was only fifteen when he took the stage as frontman for the band Herman’s Hermits. Peter stayed with the band until 1971, at which time he launched a successful solo career. He also began an acting career in the 1970’s, starring in the films Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter, Hold On!, and When the Boys Meet the Girls. He also took to the stage for the Broadway production of The Pirates of Penzance.
In the 1980’s, Noone established the band The Tremblers and also began hosting the VH1 series My Generation in the early 1990’s. Most recently, he voiced the character of Adrian in the television series Phineas and Ferb, and he continues to tour with Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, appearing mostly at revival shows. Recently, Noone appeared on America Idol in 2007 as a mentor to one of the shows contestants.
