Diana Krall was born in 1964 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Diana began studying music very early, at the age of four, beginning with piano. Her interest from the beginning was jazz, and by the time she was a teenager she was already performing around town locally as a jazz pianist. After attending the Berklee College of Music, Krall moved to California and spent the next few years perfecting her craft, before returning to her home country in the early 1990’s to release her debut.
Stepping Out, Diana Krall’s debut, was released in 1993 and immediately garnered critical acclaim. Additional albums followed: Only Trust Your Heart (1995), Love Scenes (1997), When I Look in Your Eyes (1999), The Look of Love (2001), The Girl in the Other Room (2004), From This Moment On (2006), and Quiet Nights (2009.) Diana’s album All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio (1996) earned her a Grammy nomination and spent a staggering seventy weeks at the top of the jazz charts. In addition, Krall has released the live and compilation albums Live in Paris (2002) and The Very Best of Diana Krall (2007,), and DVDs of her live performances in Paris, Rio, and at the Montreal Jazz Festival.
Diana Krall has also collaborated with some of music’s most celebrated artists, including Paul McCartney (for his album Kisses on the Bottom, 2012) and Barbara Streisand (for her album Love is the Answer, 2009.)
