Chris Cagle was born in 1968 in DeRidder, Louisiana, but grew up in Texas. As a teenager, he studied both guitar and piano, and by the early 1990’s, Cagle had moved to Nashville to pursue a career in songwriting. Within a few years, he’d first landed a publishing deal and then signed his own record deal right at the turn of the new millennium. His debut album, Play it Loud, came shortly thereafter, and on the strength of the singles “My Love Goes On and On” and “Laredo,” it eventually went gold and launched his career.
Cagle followed up with a self-titled sophomore effort in 2003, and since that time has released the albums Anywhere But Here (2005) and My Life’s Been a Country Song (2008.) The albums have spawned the singles “What a Beautiful Day,” “Chicks Dig It,” “I’d Be Lying,” “Miss Me Baby,” “Wal-Mart Parking Lot,” “Anywhere But Here,” “What Kinda Gone,” “No Love Songs,” and “Never Ever Gone.”
Chris Cagle’s career is still on the rise. He most recently released the albums Back in the Saddle (2012) and the single “Got My Country On,” which rose to the top ten on the country charts.
