The String Cheese Incident Biography

The String Cheese Incident Biography

The American band known as The String Cheese Incident was established in 1993 in Colorado by founding members Bill Nershi, Michael Kang, Michael Travis, Keith Moseley, and Kylie Hollingsworth. With a unique blend of bluegrass, rock, psychadelia, and reggae, The String Cheese Incident quickly became a favorite on the festival and jam band scene, and created a lasting endurance which makes them popular to this day.

The String Cheese Incident formed their own indie record label nearly immediately after their inception, allowing them to control and distribute their debut album, Born on the Wrong Planet, and subsequent albums. But The String Cheese Incident became far more popular and well-known for their stage performances, which feature a high level of audience participation and psychedelic effects. Over the years The String Cheese Incident has performed at some of the nation’s most notable festivals, including Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo.

The String Cheese Incident continues to perform with its original lineup, plus Jason Hann who joined the band in 2006 on auxiliary percussion. The String Cheese Incident most recently released the album Believe in the spring of 2017, and continued to tour throughout the summer of 2017.
