Miranda Lambert was born in 1983 in Texas. Her interest in music was sparked at an early age after her father, who was also a talented musician, took her to a Garth Brooks concert. Shortly thereafter, as a teenager, Miranda began performing around town in local restaurants, and by the time she was sixteen, she’d appeared on a local musical review show and learned to play the guitar. She formed her own band while in high school, and in 2002, her talents caught the eye of an entertainment attorney. He contacted a number of record labels and producers on Miranda’s behalf, and shortly thereafter, Miranda moved to Nashville to attempt a career as a performer.
The following year, Miranda Lambert entered the Nashville Star television reality show competition, and finished in the third-place spot. The result garnered her a record deal with Epic Records, and in 2004, her debut single, “Me and Charlie Talking,” was released. Miranda’s debut album, Kerosene, followed, immediately reaching the number one spot on the country charts and launching Lambert’s career as a country music star. Three more albums followed: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2007), Revolution (2009), and Four the Record (2011), and a series of hit singles, including: “Kerosene,” “Famous in a Small Town,” “Gunpowder & Lead,” “More Like Her,” “White Liar,” “The House That Built Me,” “ Heart Like Mine,” “Baggage Claim,” “Over You,” “Fastest Girl in Town,” and “Mama’s Broken Heart.” Miranda Lambert’s music has garnered her recognition from the Country Music Association (nominations for the Horizon Award and Female Vocalist of the Year); Academy of Country Music (nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year, Top Female Vocalist, Entertainer of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year); Grammy Awards (nominations for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album); the American Music Awards (nominations for Favorite Female Artist – Country); and the Country Music Association Awards (nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Single of the Year.)
Most recently, Miranda Lambert branched out into acting, appearing on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2012, and also participated on the show Project Runway as the star for which the competitors were challenged to design attire. She also provided the song “Run Daddy Run” for The Hunger Games, which appears on the film’s soundtrack. Most recently, Miranda Lambert and husband Dierks Bentley announced their 2013 tour, the Locked & Reloaded Tour.
