Scott McCreery was born in 1993 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Scott began singing while still in high school, and was a member of the school’s performing vocal ensemble. He was drawn to country music from the start, and participated in a number of talent shows and competitions even before auditioning for American Idol’s tenth season. McCreery went on to win the show, and immediately after, released his debut single, “I Love You This Big.”
Scott’s debut rose to the top 40 on the country charts and eventually certified gold. After signing with Mercury Nashville, McCreery went on to release his debut album Clear as Day (2011), an album which broke records and made Scott McCreery the youngest male country music star to debut an album at number one. The album eventually rose to the number one spot also on the Billboard 200, Top Current Albums, and Digital Albums. Clear as Day reached platinum status, and spawned the additional singles, “The Trouble with Girls,” “Water Tower Town,” and “See You Tonight.”
Scott McCreery’s career is just getting started, but he’s already won Academy of Country Music Awards for Best New Artist and Breakthrough Video of the Year. Most recently, McCreery embarked on a tour alongside Brad Paisley in 2012, and began plans for his next album release.
