The American country music singer Kane Brown was born in 1993 in Georgia. Kane grew up Red Bank, Tennessee, where he sang in the local choir and initially fell in love with R&B music before country music. When Brown was a junior in high school, he performed at a school talent show, singing the country music song, “Gettin’ You Home,” and his rousing performance solidified the music direction he would choose to take.
Kane Brown started his career through social media; as a growing artist, he would post videos of his performances on Facebook, eventually earning a growing fan base and eventually achieving “viral” status with his performance of the George Strait classic, “Check Yes or No.” When his followers reached over a million, and individual hits reached into the tens of millions, Brown launched his own crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds necessary to record his own EP.
The EP, Closer, was self-released in the summer of 2015 and debuted in the top forty on the country charts. The EP’s first single, “Don’t Go City on Me” also rose into the top forty on the country digital songs chart. But it was the follow-up single, “Used to Love You Sober,” that finally became the breakthrough for Kane Brown, garnering enough attention to pique the interest of Sony Music Nashville. Since that time, Kane Brown has released the additional EP, Chapter 1, which rose into the top five on the country charts. Additional singles from Brown include “Last Minute Late Night” and “I Love that I Hate You,” both of which rose into the top forty on the country charts.
Clearly, Kane Brown is a country music star on the rise and one to watch. Kane most recently opened for Florida Georgia Line in the summer of 2016, and immediately after he is expected to enter the studio to begin work on his debut album.
