Cole Swindell was born in 1983 in Glennville, Georgia. After graduating from Georgia Southern University in 2007, Swindell spent a few years working in marketing before garnering a publishing deal as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which eventually led to his breakthrough as a recording artist in 2013.
Before his breakthrough, though, Cole Swindell wrote some of country music’s biggest hits of the early 2010’s, including: “Outta My Head” (for Craig Campbell); “Beer in the Headlights,” “Roller Coaster,” and “Love in a College Town” (for Luke Bryan); “Get Me Some of That” (for Thomas Rhett); and “Carolina Eyes” and “Water Tower Town” (for Scotty McCreery.) It wasn’t long before Cole Swindell’s talents and success gave him the encouragement he needed to independently release his own work with his own vocals, and the independently produced song “Chillin’ It” rose to the top of the charts upon its in 2013.
“Chillin’ It” garnered Swindell a deal with Warner Bros. Records as a recording artist for their Nashville division. Since that time, he’s released a debut album, Cole Swindell, which rose to the number two spot on the country music charts and the number three spot on the US mainstream charts. The album spawned the additional hits: “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” “Let Me See Ya Girl,” and “Hey Y’all.”
Most recently, Cole Swindell joined Luke Bryan’s 2014 tour, That’s My Kind of Party Tour, alongside Michael Carter as the opening acts. The tour ran through the earlier part of 2014, and upon returning, Swindell began work on his next album and plans for additional live performances in the future.
