The country music performer David Nail was born in 1979. Before he rose to fame with his hit songs “Turning Home” and “Red Light,” Nail started his career with Mercury Nashville in 2002, recording and releasing the debut album David Nail in 2002. The album’s lead single, “Memphis,” rose into the top fifty on the country charts, but it wasn’t until I’m About to Come Alive (2007), that David Nail began to garner significant attention in the country music world.
The album’s lead single, “I’m About to Come Alive,” reached into the top fifty on the country charts but it was the second song, “Red Light,” that rose into the top ten. “Turning Home” fared equally well, reaching into the top twenty, and paved the way for the follow-up albums The Sound of a Million Dreams and I’m a Fire, both of which rose into the top ten and the latter of which hit the number three spot on the country albums charts. The albums spawned the addition singles “The Sound of A Million Dreams,” “Whatever She’s Got,” “ Kiss You Tonight,” and “Let it Rain,” Nail’s duet with Sarah Buxton, which went on to become his first number one country hit.
David Nail is a star on a steady rise, already having earned award nominations for Best Male Country Vocal Performance (Grammy, for “Turning Home”); Single Record of the Year (Academy of Country Music Award, for “Red Light”); and Vocal Event of the Year (Academy of Country Music Award, for “Let It Rain.”)
