Alison Wonderland Biography
The Australian DJ known as Alison Wonderland was born Alex Sholler. Alex initially as a child trained as a classical cellist, but as her studies and interests in music progressed, she became more interested in electronic music and DJ-ing. After signing with EMI Music Australia, Alison Wonderland began to prepare for her debut single and EP.
The result, the single “Get Ready,” arrived in 2013 and was followed by the EP Calm Down in 2014. Calm Down rose into the top forty on the Australian charts, spawning the singles “Cold” and the top forty hit, “I Want U.” But it was Alison Wonderland’s debut full-length album, Run, which finally scored her the success she’d been seeking. The album rose into the top ten on the Australian charts and into the top twenty on the charts in New Zealand; the title track became Wonderland’s first top ten hit and earned the artist two ARIA Music Award nominations.
Alison Wonderland is a DJ artist on the rise and one to watch in the coming years. In addition to her own material, Wonderland has remixed for artists such as Duke Dumont, Hermitude, and Justin Bieber. Her latest remix, for the artist known as Lido (“Crazy”) just arrived in 2017.
