Maya Jayne Coles Biography

The music producer and DJ Maya Jayne Coles was born and raised in London. Maya got her start learning to mix and produce when she was in her mid-teens. By 2008, she’d teamed up with Dogmatik Records to release her first two ablums, and in those early years she also began remixing music from such notable artists as Gorillaz and Massive Attack.

Maya’s big breakthrough came in 2010, when her EP What They Say arrived, earning her kudos from DJ Mag as one of the best new DJs of the year. The title track from the EP also received heavy airplay and helped to expand an already firm fan base for Maya Jayne Coles.

In recent years, Maya Jayne Coles has received significant praise from critics and fans alike, with invitations to record her own Essential Mix and earning her the Best Newcomer award at the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2011. Additional awards include: Symphonic Distributions Artist of the Year Award in 2012; Best House/Garage track at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2012; and Artist of the Year at the Beatport Awards.

Currently, Maya Jayne Coles places on Rolling Stone’s 24 Most Influential DJs list. Her collaborative project alongside Lena Cullen, called She Is Danger, has brought fans numerous chart-topping remixes, including: Under the Sheets ( Ellie Goulding); Girl I Love You (Massive Attack); and On Melancholy Hill ( Gorillaz.)
