The DJ and techno producer Adam Beyer was born in 1976 in Stockholm, Sweden. Beyer first arrived on the scene in the early 1990’s, having fallen in love with the sound of techno when he was a teenager. After teaming up with Joel Mull, he began producing and recording his own music, eventually founding the Drumcode label and releasing his album, Adam Beyer: Decoded. The albums Adam Beyer: Ignition Key (2002) and Fabric 22 (2005) followed.
In the new millennium, Adam Beyer has taken an interest in the emerging “minimal” scene of techno, adjusting his sound slightly and producing material that is new, fresh, and (as he puts it) “unpretentious.” Adam Beyer’s collaborations including artists such as Alexi Delano, and he has has performed at some of techno’s biggest festivals, including Amnesia (Ibiza), Global Gathering, Monegros, Vollt, and T in the Park.
In addition to Drumcode, Adam Beyer has founded the additional labels Truesoul and Madeye. Beyer also hosts a weekly radio show, “Drumcode live,” which is broadcast worldwide over more than forty stations. The accompanying podcast has downloads exceeding three million.
