The English DJ and producer Michael Woods was born and raised in London. Young Michael fell in love with music at a very early age, learning to play piano when he was only three and embarking on a classically focused music education that included trumpet, drums, and guitar. As a teenager, Michael fell in love with the burgeoning electronic music scene, and by the turn of the new millennium, he’d embarked on a career as a full-time musician and producer.
Michael Woods burst onto the scene in 2000 with his hit singles “Warrior” and “Voodoo,” both of which rose into the top forty on the UK charts. But Woods reached international recognition a few years later with the songs “Solex (Close to the Edge)” and “If U Want Me,” both released in 2003 and featuring vocals by Juliette Jaimes.
Since arriving on the scene, Michael Woods has become just as well-known for his remixes as his original music. Notable remixes from Woods in recent years include: “All the Lovers” ( Kylie Minogue); “Dynasty” ( Kaskade); “Oyster” (Moguai); “Always Loved a Film” (Underworld); “In For the Kill” (La Roux); “Happiness” (Alexis Jordan); “Born This Way” (Lady Gaga); “Black Jesus + Amen Fashion” (Lady Gaga); “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)” (Nelly Furtado); “Beautiful World” (Tiesto & Mark Knight); “Come Back from San Francisco” (Cherry Cherry Boom Boom); “Diamond Rings” (Jed Harper, Dzeko & Torres); and “Goin’ In” ( Jennifer Lopez.)
Most recently, Michael Woods produced Example’s song “Changed the Way You Kiss Me” in 2011. Woods continues to write his own music and remix in collaboration with other artists.
