The German electronic music producer and DJ known as Boyz Noize was born Alexander Ridha in 1982. Ridha grew up enamored with music; he began producing his own material from a very early age, and by the time he was in his mid twenties, he’d already mixed tracks by notable artists such as Monster Magnet, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Depeche Mode, Feist, Living Things, and Tiga.
In 2005, Boyz Noize established his own record label, releasing his first studio album, Oi Oi Oi, in 2007. The album was a moderate success, but the 2009 album Power fared much better, charting internationally and even reaching into the top twenty on the dance charts in the United States. Out of the Black fared equally well, charting not only in the top twenty on the US dance charts, but also on the US Heatseeker charts.
Between 2007 and 2014, Boyz Noize continued to also provide mixes for some of the industries most successful artists, on both new and classic material, including: Marilyn Manson (“Putting Holes in Happiness”); Snoop Dogg (“Sexual Eruption”); Depeche Mode (“Wrong”); Michael Jackson (“Beat It”); The Black Eyed Peas (“Boom Boom Pow”); Daft Punk (“End of Line”); and Donna Summer (“Bad Girls.”)
Today, Boyz Noize is listed as one of Rolling Stones’ “Top 10 DJ’s Who Rule the World.” The artist has received multiple industry awards, including an Independent Music Awards and three “Best Electronic Act” recognitions from Beatport. Most recently, Boyz Noize crafted the song “Mayday” for the Oliver Stone film Snowden; he also provided the track “Cathryn’s Peak” for the movie Ghost in the Shell.
