Cirez D Biography
The Swedish DJ known as Cirez D was born Eric Sheridan Prydz in 1976. Cirez D initially rose to fame with the hit single “Call On Me,” released under his alias Pryda in 2004, which rose to the top of the UK singles charts and became a smash dance hit throughout Europe. Sampling from Steve Windwood’s hit “Valerie,” the song paved the way for the additional remix “Proper Education,” a remix of “Another Brick in the Wall.”
Since that time, Cirez D has released the additional hits “Pjanoo” and “Every Day.” Additional remixes from Cirez D and his alter ego (Pryda) include: “Miracles” ( Pet Shop Boys); “Reach Up for the Sunrise” ( Duran Duran); “Feel the Vibe” ( Axwell); “Thriller” (Michael Jackson); “Total Departure” (Christian Smith & John Selway); “Flashback” ( Calvin Harris); “Not Going Home” (Faithless); “Personal Jesus” ( Depeche Mode); and “Midnight City” ( M83.)
Under the name Pryda or Cirez D, the artist currently owns and operates three record labels – Mouseville, Pryda Friends, and Pryda. Most of his techno tracks are released under the name Cirez D, but his other work, including his most recent essential mix of 2013, has also garnered him significant recognition, including the award for Essential Mix of the Year by Pete Tong.
