The electronic music duo known as Blaqk Audio was created by Jade Puget and Davey Havock. The two artists began writing music first as member of AFI, before launching Blaqk Audio as a side project in the early 2000’s. It took a number of years before Blaqk Audio’s material was ready for release, but upon the debut of CexCells in 2007, the duo rose to popularity, with their album reaching into the top twenty on the Billboard mainstream charts.
Blaqk Audio has since released the sophomore album Bright Black Heaven (2012), and the two albums have given audiences the hits “Stiff Kittens” (2007), “No New Tale to Tell” (2009), “The Witness” (2011), “Afterdark” (2011), and “Faith Healer” (2012.) Music from Blaqk Audio has made its way into popular culture and even film; the song “The Witness” appears on the soundtrack for the film Abduction, and “Afterdark” appears on the video game Batman: Arkham City.
Most recently, Blaqk Audio signed with Superball Music and launched an Australian and New Zealand tour alongside Evanescence. The duo of Puget (vocals, keyboard, and computer) and Havok (lyricist and vocals) continue to perform together as Blaqk Audio and have plans to return to the studio to write and record new material in the coming years.
