The American signer Charlie Puth was born in 1991 in New Jersey. Puth rose to fame after a series of his performances posted to YouTube began to establish a growing fan base in 2009. During the time, Puth was still attending the Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in 2013. But by 2011, Charlie’s performances had garnered the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, who signed Puth to her label. She subsequently invited him to perform his cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” on her show.
In 2012, Charlie Puth left Ellen’s eleveneleven record label and signed with Atlantic Records. His debut single, “Marvin Gaye,” arrived in 2015, but it was Puth’s collaboration with Wiz Khalifa on the song “See You Again” which brought him to the number one spot on multiple mainstream charts internationally, including the United States, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and New Zealand. The song was featured on the Furious 7 soundtrack as a tribute to Paul Walker.
Charlie Puth is definitely a performer on the rise on and one to watch in the coming years. He most recently released his EP, Some Type of Love, featuring the song “I Won’t Tell A Soul,” in the spring of 2015.
