The American “girl group” known as Fifth Harmony, recently rose to prominence after appearing on the television competition The X Factor in 2012. Members Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Kordei, and Ally Brooke had initially auditioned as solo competitors, but were assembled as a group by Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell and finished the competition in third place.
Fifth Harmony was signed to Epic Records in a joint deal through Simon Cowell’s Epic Records, and the ladies entered the studio to prepare for a debut EP. The group’s debut single, “Miss Movin’ On,” arrived in 2013, followed by “Boss” and “Sledgehammer” in 2014, earning Fifth Harmony the MTV Video Music Award for Artist to Watch. They also began touring extensively throughout 2013 and 2014, all the while preparing for their debut album. Reflection, Fifth Harmony’s debut, arrived in 2015 and became the group’s big breakthrough, spawning the hit single “Worth It.”
Since that time, Fifth Harmony has released a sophomore album, 7/27, which arrived in 2016. The album’s first single, “Work from Home,” features the artist Ty Dolla $ign and rose into the top ten on the charts.
