Calboy is an American rapper and producer born Calvin Woods in 1999. He was born in South Side, Chicago, before moving to Calumet City, Illinois. He began pursuing a music career to deal with the stress of his financial situation and living environment. In the summer of 2017, Calboy released his debut project The Chosen One. Another project, Anxiety, would be released in the winter of that same year.
The next year Calboy would sign with RCA and drop his third project entitled Calboy, the Wild Boy, which included his breakout single “Envy Me.” The song drew much critical acclaim and would be included on his debut EP Wildboy. The project featured contributions from fellow rappers Meek Mill, Young Thug, and G Herbo.
Calboy’s most successful single “Envy Me” charted as high as #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #14 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop charts. It was also certified double Platinum. The next year, Calboy has many successful releases, including “Chariot” with Meek Mill, Lil Durk, and Young Thug, as well as “Purpose” with G Herbo.
Calboy is currently working on his next EP, Long Live the Kings, due out in 2020. He toured with both Kodak Black and 21 Savage on the Dying to Live Tour and the I Am > I Was Tour, respectively.
