The American comedian and actor David Koechner was born in 1962 in Tipton, Missouri. David originally majored in Political Science while studying at university, but shortly after graduating he moved to Chicago to study improve with ImprovOlympic and The Second City comedy troupe. By 1995, David Koechner had earned a gig as one of the cast regulars on Saturday Night Live, a role which he credits not only for giving his career a boost, but for establishing long-lasting friendships with comedians such as Will Ferrell.
Indeed, one of David Koechner’s first notable film roles was as Champ Kind in Ferrell’s Anchorman, although prior to that he had appeared in small roles in films such as Austin Powers (1999), Whatever It Takes (2000), The Third Wheel (2002), and My Boss’s Daughter (2003.) Koechner reprised his role for Anchorman 2 (2013), and also appeared in many other notable films, including: The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005), The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Waiting… (2005), Snakes on a Plane (2006), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Get Smart (2008), Tenure (2009), Final Destination 5 (2011), Hit and Run (2012), and No Clue (2014.)
