Lisa Lampanelli was born in 1961 in Connecticut. After studying journalism at Syracuse University, Lampanelli went on to attend Harvard for her graduate work, eventually working for Rolling Stone magazine before starting to appear on stage performing stand-up in the early 1990’s in New York.
Lisa Lampanelli’s career began to take off shortly after the new millennium. She participated in multiple comedy roasts, including ones for Chevy Chase, Jeff Foxworthy, Denis Leary, William Shatner, and Larry the Cable Guy. Her first DVD comedy special was released in 2005, and an appearance in the movie Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, followed. A series of other apperances on film and in television following, including: the Comedy Central special, Dirty Girl (2006); the film Delta Farce (2007), the film Drillbit Taylor (2007); the HBO special Lisa Lampanelli: Long Live the Queen (2009); and the Comedy Central special, Tough Love (2011.) Lampanelli also competed on the Celebrity Apprentice for its fifth season, making it all the way to the final four.
Most recently, Lisa Lampanelli published her memoir, Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat, and Freaks (2009), and headlined at the charity benefit show, Night of a Thousand Gowns, in 2012. She continues to perform and act regularly.
