Seth Meyers was born in 1973 in Evanston, Illinois and attended Northwestern University. While attending, Meyers joined the university’s improv group and after graduation, began pursuit of a career in comedy entertainment. After briefly working as a member of an overseas comedy troupe in Amsterdam, Seth Meyers returned to the United States and joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2001.
Four years after joining the cast on SNL, Meyers began working also as the show’s writing supervisor and then co-head writer. His notable sketches include some of the most memorable from the 2008 presidential election, including the ones lampooning Sarah Palin. As a performer on the show, Seth Meyers is known for his characters such as: Zach Ricky, Nerod, David Singer, DJ Jonathan Feinstein, Dan Needler, and Boston Powers. His impersonations include such notable figures as: Anderson Cooper, John Kerry, Carrot Top, Sean Penn, Ty Pennington, Tom Cruise, and Donald Trump.
In addition to his work on Saturday Night Live, Seth Myers has made appearances in: Journey to the Center of the Earth, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and See This Movie. Meyers has also hosted the Microsoft Company Meeting (2009), the Webby Awards (2008 and 2009), and the ESPY Awards (2010 and 2011.) For the White House Correspondents Association Dinner in 2011, he also served as the keynote speaker.
