The American comedian and writer Heather McDonald was born in 1970 in San Fernando Valley. Heather honed her comedic skills while attending the University of Southern California, where shortly after graduation she joined the famous theater group, The Groundlings. Her work as a writer and comedian for the group helped her to prepare for her stand-up routines, which became enormously popular in the late 1990’s.
Heather McDonald began work as a writer for the show Chelsea Lately in 2007, and she has remained with the show both as a writer and comedian since that time. McDonald has published two books: a memoir, titled You’ll Never Blue Ball in This Town Again: One Woman’s Painfully Funny Quest to Give It Up; and My Inappropriate Life (Some Stories Not Suitable for Nuns, Children, or Mature Adults.) Both have listed on the New York Times Best-Seller List.
Most recently, Heather McDonald appeared in her own stand-up special for Netflix, Heather McDonald: I Don’t Mean to Brag. The special was released via the online distributor in the fall of 2015.
