The American comedian Hannibal Buress was born in 1983 in Chicago. Before Buress rose to prominence in the role of Lincoln Rice on the Comedy Central series Broad City, he grew up in the Austin neighborhood of the city. But in the last year, Hannibal Buress has gained significant notoriety as the comedian whose stand-up routine included a few digs at Bill Cosby’s rape allegations, creating a spiral effect which has since brought forth dozens of women who claim to be victims.
Before Buress began his own stand-up routines, he served as a writer for Saturday Night Live for its 2009-2010 season. He also wrote for the NBC series 30 Rock, prior to releasing his debut comedy album, My Name is Hannibal, in 2010. The album garnered Buress some recognition from Variety magazine, which included him in their “Ten Comics to Watch” list for the year. Since that time, Hannibal Buress has appeared on a number of notable television shows, including Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
Hannibal Buress currently co-stars on the Eric Andre Show. Comedy Central also recently aired the hour-long stand-up show, Hannibal Buress Live from Chicago.
