The heavy metal group known as HellYeah is actually a supergroup which has brought together talents from such heavy-hitting bands as Pantera and Mudvayne. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, musicians Vinnie Paul, Tom Maxwell, and Chad Gray began discussing the potential of a collaborative project that would bring their talents together. The result, HellYeah, was established in spirit in the early 2000’s, although the individual members of the group did not find time in their schedules to fully commit to the group until 2006.
But Paul, Maxwell, and Gray kept their commitment to the project and HellYeah entered the studio in the summer of that year. The result was HellYeah’s self-titled debut, HellYeah, released to critical and commercial success in 2007. Not surprisingly, the album rose immediately into the top ten on the mainstream charts and paved the way for the band’s additional albums Stampede (2010) and Band of Brothers (2012.) Collectively the three albums spawned a number of hit rock singles, including: “You Wouldn’t Know,” “Alcohaulin’ Ass,” “Thank You,” “Hell of a Time,” “Better Man,” “Band of Brothers,” and “Drink Drank Drunk.”
Since that time, HellYeah has continued to perform and record. The band is still very active, having recently played the Download festival and participated in the Gigantour, both in 2013. HellYeah recently released their fourth album, Blood for Blood, in 2014, featuring the singles “Sangre por Sangre (Blood for Blood)” and “Cross to Bier (Cradle of Bones),” both of which rose to the top of the charts.
