I Prevail Biography
I Prevail is an American music group that came together in 2013. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Brian Burkheiser, scream vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe, guitarist Steve Menoian, drummer Gabe Helguera, and guitarist Dylan Bowman. The former three along with Jordan Berger and Lee Runestad formed I Prevail in Southfield and quickly went viral when they posted a metalcore cover of Taylor Swift’s "Blank Space" in 2014.
I Prevail would soon release an EP and tour some sold-out shows before releasing their debut project, Lifelines, two years later. They soon performed across various countries, which included a spot on the Vans Warped Tour and tours across Europe and Australia. Their 2019 album, Trauma, proved to be I Prevail’s true breakout effort as they received award nominations from the Grammys and saw some of their greatest chart success yet.
I Prevail’ two studio albums have peaked at #15 and #14, respectively, on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #72 and #60 on the UK chart, respectively. Their Taylor Swift cover was certified Platinum by the RIAA and peaked at #9 on the US Rock chart. They received another Gold certification for "Scar" in 2016, which peaked at #39 on the US Rock chart. I Prevail weals nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2019, including Best Metal Performance for “Bow Down” and Best Rock Album.
I Prevail released three singles after their sophomore effort, which performed well with fans and critics alike while amassing millions of streams across various platforms.
