The singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson was born in 1973 and grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. After graduating from Pitzer College in California, Nathanson spent a number of years as a solo performer, long before his song "All We Are," made him a sudden sensation. His debut album, on Acrobat Records, titled Please, was released in 1993, and consisted of many songs he wrote while still in college.
ERNST came next in 1997, followed by another three albums: Not Colored too Perfect (1998), Still Waiting for Spring (1999), and Beneath These Fireworks (2003), with none of the albums charting until the release of his smash hit "Some Mad Hope," In 2007. On the strength of the song "All We Are," the album rose to the top of the charts and Matt’s music began appearing on multiple hit television shows, including Private Practice, One Tree Hill, Scrubs, the Vampire Diaries, and Big Shots.
Since that time, Matt Nathanson has released the albums Modern Love (2011) and Last of the Great Pretenders (2013), both of which have performed even more successfully than Some Mad Hope. Matt has also released the live albums At the Point (2006) and Matt Nathanson: Live at Google (2011), and the EPs When Everything Meant Everything (2002) and Plus (2003.) In addition to "All We Are," the albums have spawned the chartin singles "Come On Get Higher," "Falling Apart," "Faster," "Run," and "Mission Bells."
Most recently, Matt Narthanson has performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, the Bachelor, Live From Daryl’s House, and the Jay Leno Show.
