The singer-songwriter Ella Eyre was born Ella McMahon in 1997 in West London. Young Ella originally had her sights on a career was a competitive swimmer before she began singing, but by the time she was a teenager she had chosen to attend the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology, where a vocal coach discovered her talents in 2011.
While still a student at the school, Ella Eyre signed her first publishing deal with Warner/Chappell in 2012. Almost immediately after, Ella was offered a deal with Virgin/EMI as a recording artist, and later that year Eyre was featured on two songs by Bastille (“No Angels” and “Free”), both of which rose to the top of the charts and established Ella Eyre as an up and coming superstar. By December of the following year she’d released her own debut EP, Deeper. The EP spawned the hit single of the same name, and the year 2013 saw Ella Eyre collaborate with a number of artists as a featured singer on the songs: “Waiting All Night” (with Rudimental); “Think About It” (with Naughty Boy); and “Someday (Place in the Sun)” (with Tinie Tempah.)
Ella Eyre is a star on the rise, already with a number of award nominations and one win (for “Waiting All Night,” with Rudimental.) Ella Eyre recently released her debut single, “If I Go,” in the summer of 2014, and her fans anxiously await the arrival of her debut album, coming soon.
