Nina Sky Biography
The American R&B duo known as Nina Sky was established in 2003, when Puerto Rican born twins Natalie and Nicole Albino released their first album under the name Nina Sky. Prior to that, the sisters had been experimenting with DJ-ing and performing around the New York area, slowly establishing a following and paving the way for their future success.
After the release of Nina Sky, the duo released the song “Move Ya Body,” which rose into the top ten on the mainstream charts. The album Nina Sky also spawned the additional dance and club hit “Turnin’ Me On.” Nina Sky followed their debut success with: La Conexion (2005), The Other Side (2010), and Nicole and Natalie (2012), giving audiences the additional songs: “Curtain Call,” “On Some Bullshit,” “You Ain’t Got It (Funk That),” “Day Dreaming,” and “Heartbeat.”
Nina Sky has also contributed vocals to a number of songs in collaboration with other artists, including: Daddy Yankee (on “Oye Mi Canto”); The Alchemist (on “Hold You Down”); Tony Touch (on “Hey DJ (Play that Song”); Ivy Queen (on “Ladies Night”); Red Café (on “Things You Do”); Major Lazer (on “Keep It Goin’ Louder”); and Action Bronson (on “Cocoa Butter.”)
Nina Sky is also known for an extensive mixtape collection which predates their debut album. The four mixtapes (Nina Sky, 80’s Babies, Back to the Future, and Valentine’s Day) have recently been made available as a collection.
