Don Toliver is an American rapper born Caleb Zackery Toliver in 1994. He was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in the southwest Alief area of the city. He started releasing music formally in 2017 and released a collaborative effort with fellow rapper Yungjosh93 later that year called Playa Familia. He released his first batch of solo singles to end that year and early in 2018 Toliver would sign a deal with Atlantic Records under Travis Scott’s label Cactus Jack.
In the summer of 2018, Toliver released “Holdin’ Steel” and a music video soon followed. In August his debut major-label project, Donny Womack dropped. Right after that, Travis Scott dropped his long-awaited album Astroworld and featured Toliver on the song “Can’t Say.” A video followed which was sponsored by fashion house Saint Laurent.
Don Toliver’s debut project Donny Womack featured three successful singles: “Diva” (later remixed by Kevin Gates), “Make Sumn,” and “Holdin’ Steel.” In 2019 he released two singles “Best You Had” and “No Idea,” which ended up being Toliver’s first charting song. It peaked at #68 on Billboard Hot 100 and also charted in Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, among others.
Don Toliver dropped two singles, and his single “No Idea” has been his most successful yet. Toliver is working on his debut album as the new decade approaches.
