Pretty Ricky Biography
The Miami-born hip-hop/R&B group known as Pretty Ricky was established in 2005. R&B artists Baby Blue, Spectacular, Pleasure P, Slick’em, and Milk B came together to form the group, and Pretty Ricky burst onto the scene with the album Bluestars in 2005. The album rose into the top twenty on the mainstream charts in the United States, and into the top five on the R&B and rap charts.
Eventually certified Gold, Bluestars firmly established Pretty Ricky as a prominent hip-hop/R&B group of the era. Since then, Pretty Ricky has released the additional albums Late Night Special (2007) and Pretty Ricky (2009), the former of which rose to the number one spot on the mainstream, rap, and R&B charts, becoming the most successful album for Pretty Ricky to date. The albums spawned the hit R&B singles: “Grind With Me,” “Your Body,” “On the Hotline,” “Push It Baby” (with Sean Paul), “Tipsy (In Dis Club),” and “Say a Command.”
Pretty Ricky continues to perform and record, despite some changes to their original founding lineup. The group recently released their latest album, Bluestars 2, in 2014. Pretty Ricky has announced plans for an upcoming tour in 2015, one which will include all members of the group, past and present.
