The American rapper known as Ras Kass was born John Austin IV in 1973 in Watts, California. Kass arrived on the music scene in the mid 1990’s with his debut album, Soul on Ice, which featured contributions from such notable rappers as Dr. Dre and Easy Mo Bee. The album was well-received and set the stage for a career which has lasted well into the new millennium.
Since Soul on Ice, Rass Kass has released the additional albums: Rasassination (1998), Institutionalized (2005), and Institutionalized Vol. 2 (2008.) Notable singles from Ras Kass include: “Anything Goes,” “Soul on Ice Remix,” and “Ghetto Fabulous” (featuring Dr. Dre and Mack 10.) In addition, Ras Kass has appeared as a guest artist on dozens of other songs, including: Mystikal (“Game”); Canibus (“Horsementality”); Bad Azz and Sylk-E (“2001 4dr.
