Jacquees is an American singer and songwriter born Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax in 1994. He was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia. In 2007 he acquired his first manager, and he performed at numerous talent shows across the city before the founder of Block Entertainment spotted him. Jacquees was then brought into their studios, although the main focus of the label was rap, not R&B. He dropped “Krazy” featuring Atlanta emcee T.I., and this garnered him attention. He would later drop his debut EP I Am Jacquees in 2011.
In 2014, Jacquees released his second EP 19 and it charted on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. That got him a deal with Cash Money Records, and by 2016 he collaborated with label mate Birdman on the 2016 project Lost at Sea. Jacquees then released his breakout hit, “B.E.D.,” met with much critical acclaim. He would drop successful singles throughout the next couple years including “At The Club” in 2017 and “You” in 2018.
