Rixton Biography

The pop music group Rixton originated in Manchester, England in 2012, founded by musicians Danny Wilkin and Jake Roche. After the addition of Lewi Morgan and Charley Bagnal, Rixton began to record their performances and post to YouTube, which garnered them a significant following and helped them to gain further attention from an ever-increasing collection of fans.

Rixton’s breakthrough came with the video for the song “Make Out,” which is actually a parody of a number of big pop hits (such as “Stay,” “Wrecking Ball,” and “Applause.”) The song was never actually released as a single, but the video became a surprise viral hit, paving the way for Rixton’s actual debut single, “Me and My Broken Heart,” which released in 2014 and charted in the United States, Sweden, and Australia. The song eventually reached gold status and earned Rixton a coveted spot opening for Justin Bieber at the SXSW Festival, further bolstering their growing fan base.

Currently, Rixton has returned to the studio to prepare for an upcominb album release, scheduled for later in 2014. The group is also preparing for a US and Canadian tour in the fall of 2014, and most recently performed in New York City to a growing crowd which far exceeded the band’s expectations, requiring a bit of assistance from local law enforcement to control.
