The American R&B singer and songwriter Sunshine Anderson was born in 1974 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Sunshine grew up in Charlotte, and while attending North Carolina Central University, a representative from Atlantic Records overheard her singing. Within a short period of time, Anderson found herself with her first record deal, working under the guidance of Macy Gray to prepare her first album.
Sunshine Anderson’s debut, Your Woman, rose into the top five on the R&B charts and into the top ten on the mainstream charts. The album spawned the hit single “Heard It All Before” and “Lunch or Dinner,” bringing the album to gold status. Since that time, Anderson has released the albums Sunshine at Midnight (2007) and The Sun Shines Again (2010), featuring the additional singles: “Something I Wanna Give You,” “Force of Nature,” “Wear the Crown,” “Lie To Kick It,” and “Say Something.”
Sunshine Anderson continues to perform and record. She is currently scheduled to return to the studio to begin work on another album, set for release in the coming year or two.
