Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Biography
The hip-hop group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony originated in Cleveland in the early 1990’s, comprised of four rappers. When Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone came together, they caught the eye of producer Eazy-E, who signed the group and launched their debut EP, Creppin on ah Come Up. The album rose to the number two spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts, and spawned the hit singles “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “Foe tha Love of $.” Despite the untimely passing of Eazy-E, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony continued to thrive and released a follow-up album, E. 1999 Eternal, in 1995.
Since that time, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have released the albums The Art of War (1997), BTNHResurrection (2000), Thug World Order (2002), Thug Stories (2006), Strength & Loyalty (2007), and Uni5: The World’s Enemy (2010.) Bone Thugs-n-Harmony is recognized as among the most influential groups in the gangsta rap genre, garnering two Grammys (for Best Rap Album; “E. 1999 Eternal” and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group; “Tha Crossroads”) and American Music Awards for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap-Hip-Hop Band, Duo or Group.
Most recently, Layzie Bone announced that he would be leaving Bone Thugs-n-Harmony in pursuit of a solo career, although Bone Thugs-n-Harmony has announced no plans to disband. The group’s most recent album is Art of War III, released in late 2013.
