The emcee known as Kam was born Craig A. Miller in Los Angeles, California. Kam rose to prominence in the mid 1990’s in a career which was largely influenced by the success of his cousin, Ice Cube. He burst onto the music scene with his 1993 debut album, Neva Again, which featured the chart-topping song “Peace Treaty,” and just recently returned with his first new album in over a decade. After Neva Again and “Peace Treaty,” Kam went on to release the albums Made in America (1995) and Kamnesia (2001.) The albums featured the additional hits “Pull Ya Hoe Card,” “In Traffic,” “Whoop-Whoop,” and “I Don’t Think So.” Between 2001 and 2015, Kam was frequently featured on songs by other performers as a guest artist, including: Ice Cube (“Color Blind”); Method Man (“Bulworth”); DJ Quick (“Keep Tha P In It” and “U Aint Fresh”), Erick Sermon (“The Ill Shift”) and Tha Eastsidaz (“The Ghetto.”) In 2010, Kam became a member of the Warzone, a supergroup founded by Snoop Dogg. He is also a member of the rap group, Fruit Pruno, founded alongside his younger brother. The duo released a self-titled album in 2010. Kam’s most recent solo album, Mutual Respect, arrived in 2015.
