Smokepurpp is an American rapper and producer born Omar Jeffery Pineiro in 1997. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, but he soon moved to Miami, Florida. In high school, he began producing as a hobby and became friends with rapper Lil Pump. He started rapping over his own beats and dropped out during his senior year. Smoke uploaded his singles to Soundcloud for three years before eventually signing a deal with Alamo Records.
Smoke then dropped his debut single “Audi,” and the song was a huge success and was streamed millions of times. “Bless Yo Trap” garnered him a fanbase before the release of his debut project Deadstar. He was then signed by Travis Scott to Cactus Jack and dropped a collaborative tape with producer Murda Beatz in 2018. Smoke would release an EP in 2019 called Lost Planet.
Smoke has received millions of streams for his songs, and his debut project Deadstar charted as high as #42 on the Billboard 200, while the collaborative tape with Murda Beatz Bless Yo Trap peaked at #40. His tracks “Audi” and “Nephew” were both certified Gold.
Smoke recently dropped his debut album, Deadstar 2, to much critical acclaim. The rapper will soon begin touring for the project.
