Jagged Edge Biography
The American R&B group known as Jagged Edge was founded in Connecticut in the mid 1990’s, by Brian and Brandon Casey. The Casey brothers teamed up with musicians Richard Wingo and Kyle Norman, and released their debut album, A Jagged Era, in 1998. The album was a huge success, spawning the hit singles “The Way That You Talk” and “I Gotta Be” both of which rose to the top of the R&B and mainstream charts.
Jagged Edge followed up with the albums J.E. Heartbreak (2000), Jagged Little Thrill (2001), Hard (2003), Jagged Edge (2006), Baby Makin’ Project (2007) and The Remedy (2011.) The albums spawned the hit singles “Let’s Get Married,” “Promise,” “Where the Party At,” and “Walked Outta Heaven,” and garnered Jagged Edge multiple awards, including two Soul Train Awards for Best R&B/Soul Album and Single by a Band, Duo, or Group (for J.E. Heartbreak and “Let’s Get Married,” in 2001.) Jagged Edge has also been recognized with numerous award nominations, including three American Music Award nominations (for Favorite R&B/Soul Band, Duo or Group); two BET Award nominations (for Best Group), a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (for “Where the Party At.”)
Jagged Edge continues to perform and record with its original lineup. The members have plans to return to the studio for another album release in the coming years.
