The American hip-hop recording artist Jim Jones was born Joseph Guillermo Jones II in 1976 in The Bronx area of New York City. Jim spent his formative years growing up in Harlem, raised mainly by his grandmother. Jim began writing and recording music as a teenager, but it wasn’t until the turn of the new millennium that he began to consider a career as a musician seriously.
Jones released his debut album, On My Way to Church, in 2004, and the album was an immediate success, rising into the top twenty on the mainstream charts and into the top five on the R&B/hip-hop charts. On My Way to Church also spawned the charting songs “Crunk Muzik” and “Certified Gangstas” and paved the way for Jones’s follow up album, Harlem: Diary of a Summer, which fared even better, rising into the top five on the mainstream charts.
Since that time, Jim Jones has released the additional albums: Harlem: Diary of a Summer (2005), Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment) (2006), Harlem’s American Gangster (2008), Pray IV Reign (2009), and Capo (2011.) Chart-topping rap and R&B singles from Jim Jones include “We Fly High” and “Pop Champagne” (with Ron Browz and Santana Booking Agent & Management" href="https://www.bookingentertainment.com/artists/hiphop/Juelz- Santana.php">Juelz Santana), both of which reached the number one spot on the rap charts.
Jim Jones continues to perform and record. His most recent album, The Kitchen, was released in 2016.
